Frequently Asked Questions
How does online counseling work?
Please note, all my sessions are online in FL, WA, UT, ME, SC, and VT.
I use a simple and encrypted site to meet for sessions via
telehealth/video services. It is the same site I use for
scheduling and payments, so there's no extra work to
sign up or anything to download. Here's my profile
on WeCounsel, the program I use for online counseling sessions.
What are your hours?
My schedule varies, with morning, afternoon, and evening times available. Typically, I see clients Tue-Fri.
Please contact me for my current availability.
How much does therapy cost?
The fee per session is $175 for individual and $250 for relationship counseling per couple. Additional partners are $50 each per session. (First session is an assessessment and is $200 for individuals and $275 for relationships.)
Do you take insurance?
If you'd like to use your insurance for either relationship or individual counseling, I can provide you with an invoice (aka superbill) to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please inquire with your insurance company for more details to find out if your plan offers reimbursement (and how much) for out-of-network "behavioral health" providers, as not all do. I am not an in network provider for any insurance companies.

Do you see only millennials?
Not at all! I have experience with all adult age groups and would be glad to work with you. The most important thing is you being comfortable with the therapist with whom you choose to work. Contact me and lets chat to see if we'd be a good fit!
How long is each session?
My sessions are usually 45-55 minutes in length each. Longer and shorter sessions are available. The frequency of sessions is up to you and differs per person. Some see me weekly, others every other week. Some have check ins every few weeks. We can discuss what frequency may benefit you the most after your first session. This may change with time.
How long does therapy take?
It depends. Overall, counseling is no longer a lengthy commitment. Frequency and overall duration of therapy can vary per client. Did you know that some therapy is short term (3-6 sessions) and can greatly improve your well-being? Sometimes we have been in certain patterns for years, and it takes longer to shift into a healthy direction. After all, change can be hard. Once we have an initial session, you will be able to decide what might fit your needs.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask that you let me know at least 24 hours in advance if you will not be able to make our appointment. This gives me the opportunity to offer that time to another client. There is a fee when you don't show up or cancel within 24 hours.
Is my info confidential?
I take care to make sure your information is private. For record keeping, I use an encrypted program that is in line with HIPAA security standards. It is important for me to create a safe environment in counseling online, and part of that is maintaining safety of your records. I will request that you sign a release of information if you would like any of your records to go to a third party. (Exceptions are outlined in the Client Services Agreement you sign before we start working together).
